Democrat Andrei Cherny is the only House challenger in America to outraise the incumbent in three straight quarters and begins the 2024 election year with more cash on hand than Rep. David Schweikert.
PHOENIX – Today, Democrat Andrei Cherny announced raising over $1.4 million in 2023, breaking the record for the most amount of money raised in the off year by any Congressional candidate in Arizona history. Cherny begins the election year with a cash on hand advantage over Schweikert even without accounting for the incumbent’s hundreds of thousands of dollars of campaign debt.
In the fourth quarter, Cherny again led the entire AZ-1 field in fundraising, bringing in $412,988 and entering 2024 with nearly $950,000 cash on hand.
Cherny is the only House challenger in all of America to have outraised the incumbent in three straight fundraising quarters. His momentum is powered by grassroots donations. Cherny has not accepted corporate PAC donations or self-funded his campaign–the great majority of his contributions are $100 or less and from Arizonans.
