PHOENIX — Andrei Cherny, Democratic candidate for Congress in Arizona’s First Congressional district, launched his first television ad highlighting his 25 year track record delivering results and protecting abortion rights.
Cherny is the first candidate in the race to go up on air with a significant buy in a district routinely cited as one of Democrats’ best chances to flip the House. This builds on Cherny’s strong traction thus far. Despite primary competitors still in the race, his campaign has outraised 14 year incumbent Rep. David Schweikert in every quarter – making him the only challenger in America to do so in that period. Having raised $2 million without any corporate PAC contributions and with more than 60% of his contributions in amounts of $50 or less, Cherny has the resources and grassroots support to defeat Schweikert this November.
